The making of coffee turned into infographic art

Australian creative agency Reborn helped Breville promote its Dual Boiler by  introducing the art and science behind the perfect espresso. ‘The  Naked Espresso’ used physical computing to create live visualizations of the  coffee as it was being brewed by measuring and graphically displaying the flow  rate, pressure, temperature, and steam.

The animation speed, number of shapes, rotation and position were carefully  connected with the machine’s behaviour during the brewing process. These unique  artistic visuals were then printed out and attached to the coffee cup with a  summary of the hidden science used to make that espresso.
