Starbucks Coffee Co. and Selecta, Europe’s largest vending company, are teaming up to pilot a Starbucks office coffee service in Switzerland beginning in September.
The companies said the concept will offer Selecta’s clients branded “self-service equipment” in three sizes — a compact countertop version,
midsized standalone model and a large standalone or integrated “coffee corner.” Drink selections, customizable by the customer, will range from café crème, espresso, cappuccino and caffè latte to chai tea latte, latte macchiato, hot chocolate and Tazo teas.
Selecta provides office coffee service to more than 100,000 workplace locations in Europe and over 15,000 in Switzerland.
“We are always looking for unique ways and places to connect with our customers,” said Frank Wubben, managing director Starbucks Switzerland and Austria. “Together with Selecta, we see a great opportunity to improve the coffee experience in the workplace environment and we look forward to extending the Starbucks Experience to offices across Switzerland.”
Seattle-based Starbucks opened the first of its 50 stores in Switzerland more than 10 years ago.
“Selecta understands that consumers have changed the way they drink coffee and other hot drinks,” said Thomas Nussbaumer, managing director of Selecta’s central region. “We’re committed to meeting and exceeding their expectations with a new offering from Starbucks which will bring the best of the coffeehouse to our office customers.”
