Global coffee chain Costa Coffee has announced plans to extend its loyalty scheme to vending machines.
Marketing Week has revealed that the firm is considering offering its Coffee Club members the chance to earn loyalty points every time they purchase goods from one of its Costa Express vending machines.
Currently, customers who sign up to Costa’s Coffee Club receive five loyalty points for each £1 they spend in its UK-based stores. These points can then be redeemed against the cost of food and drink in-store.
In an interview with the website, Jim Slater, managing director of the Costa Enterprise division, revealed that the company is currently analysing the benefits of extending the loyalty scheme.
He said: “The Costa Coffee Club has worked very well, having a particularly positive impact on consumption frequency. It would be great to incorporate it into our Costa Express machines.”
Costa Coffee’s vending machines can be found in a variety of locations including motorway services, universities and hospitals.
