U.S. company Bunn-O-Matic Corp. is rolling out a Cloud-based service that allows operators to manage their brewing equipment remotely. It’s initially available for Bunn’s new line of Espress superautomatic espresso brewers.
Routine and on-demand maintenance through the new Bunnlink service are coordinated via machine-to-machine (M2M) communication that enables remote monitoring, configuration and management of geographically disbursed equipment.
The technology identifies service needs in real time, along with best-practice troubleshooting scenarios. Onscreen error codes and diagnostic reports can be simultaneously analysed by the Bunn service team and the operator. Service dispatches are reduced by assuring the technician arrives on site with correct parts so the equipment can resume operation on the same visit.
Bunn chief executive and president Hy Bunn said the M2M smart services model “provides peace of mind and lowers overall operational costs of the beverage for operators” because every design function on their digitally equipped machines can be used properly.
