Ian Broadbent – Chair elect, British Institute of Facilities Management

Ian Broadbent will be the new Chair of the BIFM from June 2010. He moves up from the position of Deputy Chair.

Broadbent fell into FM by accident. He began in a temporary role in the estates department at Lancashire Fire Brigade. Apart from a brief spell with the TSB bank, he has worked in FM every since.

Today he is director of group property services at Hallmark Cards’ HQ in Bradford – a senior management role with responsibility for FM, procurement, training, environment, risk management and CSR.

Broadbent’s contribution to the industry was recognised in 2006 when he was named BIFM’s FM of the Year. Should you wish to know more please contact us via email at -

After an extensive search the Automatic Vending Association (AVA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Hilder as its new CEO. Jonathan took up the role on 1st December 2009 and replaces Janette Gledhill, who left the AVA at the end of July after 16 years’ service. Ian Painter leaves EBWA

The European Bottled Watercooler Association (EBWA) has announced that former chairman Ian Painter has left the organisation.
